OLD TOWN AND JEWISH QUARTER
Traditional Czech Food
Havelská Koruna (21 a 23, Havelská 501) - Cheap food, self service, you pay at the cashier upon checkout.
Lokal dlouhaaa (Dlouhá 33)– The one place to go to if what you want is good food and good beer, ask for half dark beer, it's their special!
U Medvidku brewery (Na Perštýně 5) – one of the oldest breweries in Old Town. [Important] The bottom floor is a restaurant, the upper floor is the brewery and that is where you want to go.
International Food
Pasta Fresca (Celetná 11) - ideally located on most tourists paths in the city, this modern Italian trattoria offers fresh and seasonal dishes in the Italian tradition. They make ten different types of pasta in house and bake their own focaccia. This place is very popular also among locals so I'd recommend booking a table in advance or going outside of usual meal times.
Sad Man's Tongue Bar & Bistro (Konviktská 7) - one of the most popular burger places in town, so make a reservation!
Brunch Spots
Bistro Monk (Michalská 20, 110 00 Staré Město) - nice hipster cafe with breakfast all day and adorable service. Opens at 8:30.
Venue (LOGORYTÍŘSKÁ 3 or HAVELSKÁ 4) - serving an all-day breakfast and lunch menu prepared with love and local and responsibly sourced ingredients including meat, eggs and vegetables.
Pauseteria (Old Town Square U Radnice 4) - ideally located right on the Old Town square within the arching walkway of the Town Hall building and serving great quality breakfast/brunch every day as well as stunning pastries you can enjoy with freshly roasted coffee supplied only by Czech roasters.
Bakeshop (Kozí 1, 110 00 Staré Město) - perfect for a quick bite or a breakfast that will get you ready for a day of exploring the city. Open from 7AM for the early birds.
Marthy's Kitchen - U Mánesa (Masarykovo nábř. 2016/6, 120 00 Nové Město) - good prices and portion size! They also have a place in Vinohrady. Opens at 8AM on weekdays, 9AM on weekends.
Brunch at Pauseteria - February 2024
LESSER TOWN
Kuchyň (Hradčanské nám. 186/1, 118 00 Praha 1-Hradčany)– translates as „Kitchen“ because when you want to place an order, you follow the staff to the kitchen, where they show you what they have cooked for the day and you just pick what you want.
Strahov Monastery Brewery (Strahovské nádvoří 301, 118 00 Praha 1-Hradčany) – one of Prague's microbreweries, this place is definitely worth it offering great beer and food for a good price considering the location.
FOOD MARKETS AND BEER GARDENS
Manifesto Market - an open-air food market that very quickly became a must-visit place for anyone who likes street food, drinks, and good vibes. Cards only.
Havelské tržiště - this souvenir market also has a couple of small stalls where you can buy coffee and tasty pies.
Farmers' Saturday market on Náplavka - As the name suggests, the farmers market takes place only on Saturdays at 8AM-2PM. This market doesn’t have street food, but you can grab a coffee and a pastry there. We recommend visiting in the morning, since some stalls start closing as soon as they sell out their goods.
Letna Beer Garden - perfect place to drink Czech beer with a view of Prague.
